The Perfect Medicine

I learned a pretty important lesson today. See, I normally hafta take these huge pills for my stomach condition (ulcerative colitis) everyday. But yesterday i ran out of pills and didnt get to take them. My stomach seemed alright, so i didnt think it'd hurt to miss just one day. But i was severely mistaken. I started to sweat and feel drastic stomach pains. So i quickly ran down to longs, and used my prescription to get more pills. My stomach gets super critical if i dont remember to take my meds.

We are naturally born sick. We have a disease called sin. There's only one cure and one solution to our sinful nature. This perfect medicine is Jesus. Jesus is the only one who can completely heal our hearts. We must remember to take Jesus as our daily medication. Sometimes we get tired of having to rely on medicine, and think that we're strong enough. We figure, "Nah i dont need Jesus, my sin isn't too bad. I'll be find on my own." And that's super dangerous.

I once heard a guy talk about ice cream. People think Jesus is just a tasty treat, or an extra bonus. People think, "Nah, im not that big on ice cream." Well Jesus isnt like ice cream. Jesus is like insulin. Without Jesus you die. Insulin is needed, and necessary to live. Jesus saves lives. It is absolutely crucial that we have Jesus in our lives. Jesus is not just for some people. Everyone needs Jesus, everyone. Jesus may not be a want to you, but He is definitely a need. So it's a very urgent matter that we have a relationship with God every single day. Make sure you take your medicine.

If you're reading this now.. I dare you to go get your shoes, and take a 20 minute walk. Stare at the glorious sky. Get some fresh air. Clear out your mind and reflect on life. Then i would challenge you to seek and worship God. Ponder on God's love, and meditate on God's character. Find peace and intimacy in Him, talk to Him and try singing a song. lol, i dunno, see what happens. So turn off your darn computer and go do it!

"Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers." 1 Tim 4:16"Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." Luke 9:23-24
