Quick Thought

Although I've heard this quote several times, I think only now it's really starting to hit me deep.

"Instead of looking to find the right person, focus on becoming the right person."

We get so caught up looking for someone to sometimes perfectly meet our long list of needs and expectations, to find that connection on all intimacy levels, have excellent communication, compatibility, shared faith, values, life goals, interest, who's emotionally available, attractive, affectionate, warm, supportive, thoughtful, caring, and loving, etc..

But do we possess those traits ourselves? Perhaps we ought to be more focused on loving ourselves, and becoming the best version of ourselves because whether we're in or out of a relationship, self-care and self-improvement should be our top priority anyway.

No man or woman is perfect or will love you perfectly the way you wish to be treated. People will let ya down. In a way, the most successful relationships acknowledge their issues and are able to work out their conflicts.

We must learn to treat ourselves with love and know our self-worth whether or not others see, value or appreciate us. We are given this opportunity to actually work hard on ourselves so that we are ready and prepared to be a great partner.

Remember to be grateful for all that we do have. we're extremely fortunate and blessed as we are. Do not take the simple things in life for granted. Every day is a chance to become a stronger and happier version of ourselves.

Sometimes, I literally thank God I'm still alive. With two eyes to see and two legs to walk, food to eat, and for family & friends. AC. A hot shower. a warm bed. And with this abundance, how foolish am I to complain that something in my life isn't going exactly how I thought or expected. We look for someone to magically fill our voids & needs, rather than concentrating on reaching our potential.

Stay on course to pursue your own greatness. To become proud of who you're becoming. To find happiness, health, and meaning by being consistently disciplined, hard-working, and grateful. You attract what you become. So if you're single, embrace this season in life where you have the time to focus on self-development to work on both your character, faith, and doctrine. Remember to put God first! Like actually seeking the kingdom of God first in your life, to do all things for His glory.
