Spiritual Hunger

I've been thinking a lot about our desires and the things we want in life. I've been thinking about how that affects our day to day priorities and behavior. What do you want in life? What's most important to you? In what way can I live a more purposeful life?

We may say little phrases like, put God First, Keep Christ the center of your life, live to worship and glorify God. But does our life match to those mottos? Does God rule and reign supreme in all areas of our life? In what ways do we get distracted? Do we fall into temptation or pursue idols before God? What does it look like to prioritize and love God? What desires are from him, and what are not?

In what ways can we grow in a spiritual hunger to walk closely with Jesus? In what ways can we synchronize, align, and attune our heart to His word, will and way? Where in my life do I need to take better responsibility? What in my life do I need to surrender to Him?

Spirituality is not meant to be compartmentalized to only something we do when we go to church. An intimate relationship with God is by taking intentional moments in our day to abide in Him regardless of what we're doing.

Jesus would often take time away from people to have private time with God the Father. Sometimes I like to take 1-2 minutes to intentionally pray, meditate, rest, and wait upon God. It's a good spiritual discipline to take several moments to not only reflect upon God's word, will, and way, but to communicate and be with Him. Taking a few minutes is simple, and can be applied anywhere when you're walking, driving, or just puttering around.

We are to grow in our hunger and thirst for righteousness. How can we increase our hunger and desire for Him? In what way can we experience more joy and satisfaction in Him? In what ways can I focus on abiding in God and be less distracted?

Quality time, comes out of quantity time. Rest & receive from Him, so we have more to give to others. Learn to walk with Him wherever you go. Do not chase after idols and created things, do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, rather we are commanded to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Constantly do your best to keep your eyes and thoughts on Him.

How easy it is to wander astray. We must redirect and recenter ourselves to make our ways, values, and principles his ways, values, and principles. A relationship with God is not a one time thing. It's a commitment and resolve to live out our faith in practice. Faith is belief manifested. In what ways can we be more intentional to live for his purposes?

"For you were called to freedom, brothers (and sisters.) Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." -Galatians 5:13-14

It's a good way of looking at it but wouldn't you say the same thing with all your relationships? Have you ever questioned why someone has stopped talking to you or suddenly left without any sort of word? It could be a sign that the person wasn't giving their all to the relationship. That they took it for granted and began to expect things more than they should have. Kindness shouldn't be overlooked.
