Moving up to California was a big transition.
This year had many trials.
I went through a time of depression
but was strengthen by fellow peers, classmates, counselors, and the church body
I faced a tough living environment, which lead to daily frustration
But was also able to forgive and approach the situation in love
I became defeated, discouraged and extremely stressed out at times
But was lifted and encouraged by God
My first year at Talbot just finished today, and I realized that God has been growing and strengthening me through these trials
Here's a few things i learned this year
The importance of community and fellowship with the church
the beauty and the power of the gospel, and letting it take root in us daily
the absolute necessity of turning to God in prayer, and praying for others
How abiding in the vine, is abiding in Christ, in His words, and in His love
The importance of immersing ourselves in the Bible, meditating on scripture,
And reading big chunks at a time to get the big picture of the context
How literary, grammatical, historical and cultural backgrounds breathe life into the text
The tricky approach to academics, while keeping you're spiritual walk your priority
The sanctification gap, and how God's grace accepts us as we are
Living a life of faith is followed with obedience, worship and actions
Seeing and loving people the way God does
Synchronizing our heart to His
How we should be good stewards of our lives, time and resources
Importance of being real with yourself, others and God
How God is our strength, refuge, hiding place, fortress, and peace
How we are to conform our desires to God's desires
How important it is to stand for righteousness and live in purity
How sin is an illegitimate way of trying to satisfy a legitimate need
Waiting upon God, seeking His purposes, instead of rushing with our own plans,
Finding rest and joy in God, even through trials and suffering
God's almighty sovereignty, providence and supremacy over all of creation
The infinite goodness and intense love the Father lavishes on us everyday
How God used people in both the OT and NT, watching His plan unfold
How God was faithful to His covenants, How he used prophets, leaders, and kings
How He led the nation of Israel through their captivity and delivered them from their enemies
How theology and school can even become an idol at times
escatalogy, epistemology, soteriology, pneumatology, exegesis, hermeneutics, imputation
How God grows us within our relationships and families
How we are to treasure Christ above all else
and a bunch of other stuff that i cant think of right now
k bye!
