What is it that I believe in? Nay, rather who is it that I believe in? I believe in my God. Not only that he exists, but that he is a loving, gracious, and merciful God. He is a sovereign, faithful and holy God. He is always in control. God is supreme over the heavens, all the nations of the earth and the entire universe. Therefore, God can also heal our brokenness, our relationships and restore our souls.
God spoke this world of life into existence and fulfilled covenants of promises to his people. God would be perfectly righteous and just in giving us judgment for our sins. So if you're breathing right now, you're doing better than you deserve. We're sustained by God's sovereign grace. God loved us so much he chose to redeem his people from a slavery of sin. God reboots us and gives us a new heart. We go from being orphans to sons and daughters! God became a man; our savior Jesus Christ. He humbled himself and died in our place. He willingly laid down his life to absorb the wrath our sins deserved. Who do you believe in? God? As Christians, do we just say that? or do we really place our faith in him?
God is always with us and always loves us. He covers us with his righteousness. We have reasonable faith to believe and to trust him with our lives. As Christians, we're given freedom and forgiveness! We're given direct access to commune with God, our Creator, our King! He's our greatest treasure! He wants us to surrender to his love. He calls us to intimacy. He calls us to joyful obedience. He calls us to worship!
I was thinking. Heaven must be the best party ever. No more sorrow, no more pain. Just rockin out with the church and angels worshiping God on his throne. What if there's super awesome food? Nah no need, God's Word is our food! lol. We will be completely satisfied in him. And we can experience that relationship in this life, right meow.
In any and every situation we have the opportunity to trust God. What if trials and times of suffering are meant to lead us towards depending on God? Something i find interesting is that patriarchs and people in scripture are able to praise God and find joy even during suffering. When I look at people like Abraham, Moses, David, Daniel, and other prophets, i see a commonality among them. They all had deep trust and confidence in God. It really didn't matter what obstacles were in their way, they trusted God, walked with him and were obedient.
When we pray. We need to pray in confidence and in boldness. We need to pray with expectation and with hope. He says ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find. We need to believe in the things we pray for. We need to pray more specifically, and of course with the utmost reverence.
Our Father loves when we ask things according to his will. If God doesn't respond and bless in the way we expect, then maybe it wasn't in his will. We need to attune our hearts towards praying for his will in our lives. Our God loves to bless and give to his children. He wants us to simply be with him and enjoy him. His grace washes over all our sins. He turns our darkness into light. He brings comfort and peace to our troubled hearts. He can't stop loving us intensely. He can't stop chasing after us relentlessly. I can't describe how much he loves us. He gives us his undivided attention, and delights when we come to him in prayer.
God I trust you. I trust you with my relationships, with my future and with all my soul. May not my will, but your will be done. help me in times of unbelief. crush my pride and my idols. Center my life and thoughts around you. I pray for transformation and maturity. Father I pray for wholeness and for purity. I pray for contentment and for a burning joy. Fill me with passion. I want to be closer to you than ever before. Speak to me. Consume me and engulf me with your loving presence, fill me with your Spirit. I praise you with all that i am. May you receive all the glory. You are worthy of all praise.
"Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete." -John 16:23-24
