God is Sovereign Over All Things

Things are gonna be ok.

We’ll be ok.

This applies to all the things we’ve been worrying about.

God is good all the time.

and all the time God is good.

Yes life is unpredictable, we don’t know what will happen tomorrow, but the main point is that— If our God is good, we do not need to worry.

As Christians we are called to trust and have faith that God is completely in charge and supreme over everything. In every and any possible alternate timeline or universe, one thing remains true, God is always good and always fully in control.

God is never absent, caught off guard or surprised by disease, disasters or death. God has not ghosted us. God always remains completely sovereign, good and just. Even when there are times it feels like He’s not there, He is. We live by faith and not by feelings.

So if we know God is good and is in charge and loves us.. no matter what shall happen, things will be ok, and we will be ok. Everything will be ok because no matter the circumstances we will always have God.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God. If God is for us, who can stand against? If God is our highest good, holy, just, faithful and perfectly righteous then we have all the reason to trust Him. Therefore.. do not worry. For He is good and always in control.

Yes, our world is not stable right now. COVID19 has completely changed our way of life. Things might not ever go back to how they once were. The ripple effects are also causing a lot of issues. Natural disasters and wars will continue to impact our world.

Masks + social distancing seems like it will be our new normal. Things in our world could very well get worst before it gets better.

There very likely could be a food shortage famine, lock downs, black outs, violence, crime, rioting, persecution, war, disasters, issues with the government and politics, the economy plunging, death, and other end time signs. The world is getting very chaotic. But..

No matter how bad things get, we have our God.

I’ve been watching a lot of people’s dreams on YouTube.  It’s hard for me to vouch that someone’s prophecy is 100% true and accurate, although I can see how they very well could be. this next year will most likely be very crazy. You kind of don’t need prophecy to know that the next year of life will be tough. Something else happening would not be surprising.

I believe God has pressed on my heart the message that “Things will be ok.” It’s kind of a message that, even in the hardest of times we will still endure. I get that the world has a lot of scary things happening.. but for some reason God reminds me that he is our stability through the storm. God is unshakable. And it is in Him we find a deep sense of calmness, safety and peace.

Yes we can acknowledge that there is suffering, loss, and all sorts of difficulties. But I'm reminded that there is also a lot of good too. I think this is a pivotal time in history for the church to stand for true doctrine.

One of the main signs of the end times is that the man of lawlessness, aka the anti-christ is revealed. And he will do various supernatural things and also claim to be God. This is where a lot of people will be mislead by false teaching, the truth will get distorted, and people will be led astray. I think it's important that Christians point to the truth that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, the only way to the Father.

When the rest of the world has gone bonkers. God is our refuge, our shield, our strength, our hiding place, our strong tower. We can definitely have concerns, prepare and take precautions, but God does not want us to be filled with fear or worry.

God is sovereign over all things.

Yes I do believe we are at the close end of the dispensation period of God’s grace and living in the last days or in the eleventh hour. However, we wouldn’t be the first generation to think we were the last generation. God has a tendency to stretch and allow for more time for his grace and purposes. But I don’t claim to know. And I think the Bible makes it clear that no one knows the day or hour. It'll be like a thief in the night. And all the prophecy about the last days is fulfilled. And then Christ will come to destroy the anti-Christ. Then the rapture and the proclamation and manifested establishment of God's kingdom.

There are more people living today than all the people combined in history. Broad is the path that leads to destruction, narrow is the road that leads to life. As Christians we need to be prepared as if it were to happen, but continue living as if it’s not. Even if the rapture doesn't happen, who's to say that we don't die from something else? Life is a gift. And it's important we make good use of it.

Yes things are bad. But whenever I thought of what end times would look like, I imagined things to be much worse. More wars, more violence, more natural disasters, more persecution. As bad as things are now, I think we’ve only scratched the surface.

The most important message is still the message of the Gospel of God’s saving grace.

We are still breathing. The sun comes up everyday without promises. The birds still go about their daily business. This is a season to focus on our inner spiritual life and to draw close to God. This is a time to find balance and peace. This is a time to be intentional with connecting with people important to us. Just because our weekly routines have changed, does not mean we stop pursuing our best selves. In fact, a solid understanding of the next life, being in eternity with God in Heaven, should drive us to live life to it's fullest. It's funny how we often make a big thing out of small little things. There's something about the perspective of life being short that encourages us to see the things that are truly important.

I think it’s easy to see all the little ways and inconveniences covid has made life challenging. I know it can be frustrating. But if you’re reading this, odds are you aren’t starving, dying or in poverty. There are people really facing the hard reality of all it’s effects. And no matter how hard our circumstances we must remember to be grateful for all that we do have.

The virus will continue to remain a threat for many many years. But there is also a lot of good still happening. There is good to be found. What are the positive things in your life? Focus on them. Praise God for even the little things. God works all things for the good of those who love him.

One of the benefits is having more time to myself. God has been using this time to remind me to focus on my goals and the things that I want in life. I plan to get past 2020 and live the rest of my full life. If raptured, hallelujah praise God! If no rapture in this life then we have our entire lives to live for him, hallelujah praise God! We got this one life.. So we minus well be purposeful with it.

To live is Christ, to die is gain.

I’ve had to deeply ponder the things I want in life. In seeing where I want to be, I must put in the work today. The best things in life often take time, intention, discipline, hard work and consistency to grow and develop.

Life is only short if we waste time.

Whatever it is that you want in life, pursue it, invest in it, work at it, make it happen. Be driven. Be intentional. yes the world is on pause, but our lives, goals, and passions should never be.

Things will be okay. Things will eventually get better in time. What’s happening around the world is a historic pandemic event. Imagine how much harder it was back in the 1918 Spanish Flu when they didn’t have all the medical and technology advances we have today. But over time they did get through it.

Whether life becomes very hard, whether more Christians face persecution, or whether there’s the rapture, God is in control and is always with us.

The Bible talks about wars, famines, diseases and disasters. History repeats itself in many ways. We live in a fallen world. No matter how crazy our physical world gets, we must remember that spiritually we have eternal security in Him. And as Christians we are called to share the gospel.

My point is even through this crisis, God is large and in charge. There are numerous lessons. More than ever, God is calling people to Him. People are being saved due to the effects of this pandemic. More than ever, God is calling his people to deepen in our faith. Draw closer to God in intimacy and in trust. People are looking for a sense of stability, something to trust and to put their hope in. In the darkness we are called to shine even brighter.

When I was younger my Dad would pick me up in his car. I was too little to even see the road ahead. I would just look at all the street lights. I didn’t know what was coming up, or even how to get to where we were going. I would often just fall asleep in the car ride because I knew my Dad was there and knew where he was going, and we were gonna get there just fine. I had faith and trusted that I was gonna be perfectly alright because my Dad was the one driving. Faith/Trust diffuses worry and instills peace.

As Christians, we don’t need to freak out. The ones who should be in fear are the ones who don’t know God. Material wealth and riches cannot save. Christians can sleep well at night because whatever happens does not matter, because we know we have assurance of salvation, which gives us peace.

As Christians we need to pray for nonbelievers, that they would repent and believe. Sometimes people don’t turn to God until there literally isn’t anything else. When I think of the rapture, I know I’m ready. The only thing that makes me unsettled is knowing that there are so many people who do not know the truth or accepted Jesus as Savior, King and Lord.

Do not worry. Do not be afraid. Fear not. Jesus seems to repeat these over and over throughout scripture. It’s not to say that there isn’t things to worry about. There will always be things that we can worry about. God is telling us, not to fear, not to worry. He has not left or abandoned us. He is always with us, to the end of the age. Even tho there are several things we are not in control of.. Not matter what, God is always in control.

God is in control. We don’t need to worry. Things will be ok.

Christians need to demonstrate and show that with Jesus there is no need to worry and fear like the rest of the world. Instead we are to lead others to grow in faith and trust, to deepen in relationship with God.

God makes Christians strong so they can help, lead, support and encourage others to know Him more.

In the midst of the winds, waves and storm, Jesus takes a nap. The disciples all panicked. And Jesus was like, bros.. chill out. I got you.

When Peter walked on water, the chaotic sea was all around Him. The answer was to not focus on the chaos, darkness and instability or this world. The answer was to keep focused on Jesus and to trust him in faith.

God can instantly stop covid and all forms of disease and disasters quicker than a snap of a finger. God can heal people dying of the corona virus and deadly cancers, or he might not. Even if he doesn’t he is fully just, wise, and sovereignty allowing the sin and it’s effects in our world for his good purposes. Even if we don’t understand why things happen, at the end of the day, God accomplishes His divine will.

When we have the Father’s love, we do not need to worry. God communicates to us, “Do not worry. I am here. I am always here. Trust me.”

You can’t trust Worry and God at the same time.

When we trust God we can have true peace.

Peace is not the subtraction of problems, but the addition of power.

Rise up this mornin'
Smiled with the risin' sun
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true
Saying', this is my message to you
Singing' don't worry 'bout a thing
'Cause every little thing gonna be alright
Singing' don't worry 'bout a thing
'Cause every little thing gonna be alright

Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be Strong. Believe.

With the fall of man. Disease, disasters and death entered our world. When Adam and Eve ate of the fruit, they allowed this original sin to corrupt our world. Even as Christians our hearts and minds in this life are still tainted by sin.

There are things happening that would not of otherwise have happened if it weren’t for this virus.

In the midst of dark valleys, follow the Good Shepherd.

We want to directly point our finger to blame someone for covid. “This is all God’s fault.” or “This is all Satan’s doing.” Yes they could be using it for their underlying agendas and plans. Yes God can even use sickness as a form of judgement and condemnation for those who reject Christ. But aren’t Christians also dying of COVID19?

Yes, God can also use this sickness as an act of mercy for his saving purposes that are without condemnation. God has every right to give and take away. Why do little infant babies die? Perhaps God used them for his purposes and then brought them back to be with Him. Only God knows. We may not understand all of His ways, but I do believe God is allowing this world to go through this struggle to accomplish specific purposes.

Has Satan used COVID for his schemes? absolutely. But God is sovereign completely over all of the dark dimensions, evil powers and demonic forces. God and Satan are not even close in equality as if there were a power struggle.

God could completely stop COVID, wars and all natural disasters if He wanted to. God could completely banish satan’s influence and power. God could initiate the rapture, fulfill all prophecy and the 2nd coming immediately on his terms. But He could also not. God could be slow, patient and give warnings.

In this time, many are being saved and are coming to know Christ. In this time Christians are being drawn closer to prayer, evangelism of the gospel and doing good works in the midst of this pandemic. God is using pastors, churches and Christians in new creative ways to spread to the masses. Someone never interested in church, is now tuning in online. God can even use persecution for his purposes. It’s easy to hear about all the negative effects, but perhaps we must also be reminded of all the positives as well.

God is definitely using COVID as just one of the ways He is calling all people to repent and to trust in Jesus. For many this is a wake up call. Awakening us for the second coming. Whether it happens today or hundreds of years from today. By God’s grace, He is calling all to repent and believe.

Jesus came preaching the Kingdom of God, a theocracy, where Jesus is our King. The Kingdom is His sovereign rule and reign. It is already partially here and now, and also still yet to come in it’s full completed sense.

God is calling us to be more and more like Christ by aligning ourselves to his Word, Will and Way. God is strengthening and deepening His people. God is speaking + teaching in ways that are unexpected.

Our time and lives here are finite. Our lives here are two seconds compared to eternity. Physically on this planet we will all eventually die. Whether we die tomorrow in our sleep or in 60 years.. I don’t think God wants us to worry about it. Instead He says, Here’s a gift of life. Live it to the fullest because another day is not guaranteed. Everyday is filled with opportunity. Everyday is a new beginning. Be who I’ve called you to be. Live, Grow. Blossom. Thrive. Flourish. Bless. Love.

Here’s the big picture. It’s all about Relationships. Relationship with God, with others and with ourselves. All are sources to love and be loved. To know and be known. Grow in Love. Grow in Knowledge. Grow in  Grace + Truth. Do all things for His glory. This is the key to life. This is what it’s always been about.

Let’s keep the main thing, the main thing.

mkbye
